Cassie Young, known 'round camp as "Goldie Fox," is an LA native,
in love with all things CAMP since the ripe 'ol age of 4.
She's worked with youth for over 18 years, from Counselor-in-Training to Social Worker, and loved no role so much as Camp Director.
Cassie became her best self at camp:
"Growing up, my front yard was this huge park. I went to the camp there every summer since I was 4 years old. I truly grew up at camp. When I was 7, I met my best friend of now 25+ years there.
It was a space to find my voice and try on different versions of myself, realizing my camp self truly is my authentic self. And nearly 30 years later, camp is still the thing pushing me to be my best self."
Cassie studied Sociology and Education at UC Santa Barbara and received an MSW from UCLA, specializing in work with Children & Families. She is also an American Camp Association (ACA) Certified Camp Director.
Creating a camp that blends the fun and freedom of the recreation-style camps she grew up going to, with the progressive and intentional approach she developed an overwhelming passion for, has been the most joy-filled time in her entire life.
The only thing better than planning for camp is actually seeing the campers and staff LIVE the Wildfolk Way, fully taking it into their hearts and minds! It's a WILD journey!
To keep up with Cassie-
